CHAIN WEAR MONITORING

Chain Wear Monitoring of X-Type conveyor chain is a service offered by Applied Lubrication Technology that is invaluable to plant maintenance personnel. Chain Wear Monitoring provides a wear/stretch measurement of every link in the chain allowing badly worn links to be detected and replaced before a failure occurs. Initial installation of a locator magnet on one of the closed links allows the monitoring system to automatically finish measuring when the conveyor completes its revolution and also gives a reference point for future repeat measurements, allowing the customer to closely follow the changing condition of each link over the years.

Upon completion of the measurement cycle our trained technicians are able to present the customer with an electronic copy of the findings, which can then be printed should a hard copy be required. Programmable set points allow chain links that show excessive wear (often referred to as chain stretch) to be highlighted in the report, allowing quick and easy location of potential chain failure locations.
